Green Roses

Green Limbo Rose
I didn’t know such things existed, but I saw them at a shop today and had to pick up a bunch for Cheryl. This variety is called ‘Limbo’. I’m quite taken with them!

That's pretty neat, but it looks yellow in this picture.

If you've ever seen a yellow rose, you'd see that these are quite different. They are described as being greenish white, with the green more apparent on the outer petals -- the picture captures this quite well.

There's also a rose named "Jade" that's green....I think they're a purer green, less yellow. See if your florist can get them for you. In the professional litrature "Limbo" is described as a yellow-green while "Jade" is the white-green. Check it out for yourself and see which you like best. Janet

Janet, thanks for pointing out the Jades to me. In addition to the difference in color, there also looks to be a difference in the edges of the petals: the Limbos have a ruffled edge (I'm sure there's a proper term for it), which I rather like. When I next have to plan flower arrangements I'll be sure to compare them in person.
